0 Join Rocking the Boat on Saturday, September 29th for the adventure of a lifetime: a day-long 27-mile row around the entire island of Manhattan!

Leading up to the big row, participants will raise at least $1,000 each to support Rocking the Boat's innovative youth development programs in wooden boatbuilding, maritime skills, and environmental science.

Ten teams will circumnavigate the island in 26½-foot hand-built wooden rowing boats accompanied by Rocking the Boat students who will serve as coxswains. Three powerboats will offer support to ensure a safe voyage.

The row will start on Governors Island—there will be free ferry service from Manhattan—and go counterclockwise around Manhattan, first heading north on the East River and ending at Pier 40 on the Hudson. Following the row, participants will be treated to a well-deserved dinner, party, and an awards ceremony honoring the top fundraisers.

If being able to say, "I rowed around Manhattan and raised money for a great cause in the process" sounds good to you, sign up as an individual rower or start a team.

If this isn’t the year to pull an oar yourself, consider sponsoring a friend or making a general donation. Your support is greatly appreciated.

See you on the water!
